Guyon Espiner is one of New Zealand’s most respected journalists, with more than 20 years’ experience across print, radio and television.

Throughout his career he has worked as a reporter, political editor and anchor, building deep insight into New Zealand politics and public life. He currently works at Radio New Zealand as an investigative journalist, covering issues ranging from police shootings and spy agencies to political donation scandals, lotteries, drugs and international relations.

Guyon is also a committed advocate for the revitalisation of Te Reo Māori, using his platform to introduce and normalise the language in everyday broadcasting.

Sharp, thoughtful and well-informed, Guyon brings a rare depth of experience to the stage. He draws on two decades at the centre of New Zealand journalism to offer perspective, context and clarity on the issues shaping the country.

As a speaker or MC, he is measured and intelligent, able to unpack complex topics in a way that feels accessible and balanced — creating conversations that are insightful, engaging and grounded in real-world experience.
