Mike Minogue has worked in Aotearoa’s film and television industry for more than 20 years, beginning his career behind the scenes on major international productions including The Lord of the Rings, King Kong, District 9 and the first two Avatar films.
He later moved in front of the camera, writing, producing and starring in the comedy series Talkback alongside Jason Hoyte, and becoming widely known for his roles in What We Do in the Shadows, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, and as Officer Minogue in Wellington Paranormal — a performance that earned him Best Actor at the 2019 NZTV Awards.
Mike also produced the critically acclaimed feature film Coming Home in the Dark, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was later acquired by Netflix.
Outside of film and television, Mike is part of Radio Hauraki’s Big Show alongside Jason Hoyte and Chris Key, and a regular voice on the Alternative Commentary Collective.
