Murray Thom is a New Zealand entrepreneur, producer and publisher known for turning creative ideas into successful commercial ventures.

Across his career he has launched a wide range of projects spanning music, publishing, philanthropy and business. His work includes The Great New Zealand Songbook, a landmark project featuring handwritten lyrics from many of the country’s most celebrated songwriters, which went on to become one of the highest-selling New Zealand albums of all time.

He later created The Great New Zealand Cookbook, bringing together 80 of the country’s leading chefs, cooks and bakers, and most recently developed The Offering Project, a large-scale production reflecting his long-standing desire to create work that combines creativity with community impact.

Alongside his creative projects, Murray remains deeply involved in the New Zealand business community. Based at The Icehouse in Auckland, he mentors emerging entrepreneurs and works closely with business owners looking to grow and scale their ventures.

Murray is also the author of the bestselling memoir Eat, Drink & Be Murray.

On stage, Murray shares practical lessons from decades of entrepreneurship — focusing on how small opportunities can be developed into sustainable businesses, how creativity drives commercial success, and how relationships and reputation underpin long-term growth.
