Zion Armstrong’s journey is anything but ordinary. A values-driven leader, he is known for his ability to connect with people, build inclusive cultures and grow talent at scale. His philosophy is simple: put people first and results will follow.
Raised in West Auckland, his athletics career began in unlikely circumstances — and ultimately carried him to the Commonwealth Games. That early drive and competitive spirit would go on to shape a career far beyond the track.
In his early twenties, Zion became Head of Footwear at Adidas New Zealand, beginning a corporate trajectory that took him from New Zealand to Germany and across Asia, before ultimately leading him to the role of President of Adidas North America. Under his leadership, the business achieved record results, delivering US$6 billion in annual profit.
In 2022, at the height of his international career, Zion made a deeply personal decision to return home to New Zealand for his children — redefining success on his own terms.
