Few players have earned the popularity and respect of fans quite like Andrew Mehrtens.
One of the most influential All Blacks of the professional era, the former first five-eighth played 70 Tests for New Zealand and sits second on the All Blacks’ all-time points scoring list. Renowned for his tactical intelligence and exceptional goal kicking, Mehrtens was the driving force behind many famous victories for the All Blacks, Crusaders and Canterbury.
At Super Rugby level, he became a Crusaders cult hero, helping lead the franchise to five titles across a decade with the team. After leaving New Zealand, Mehrtens continued his playing career in Europe before eventually retiring from the game.
