Chris Key is a familiar face across New Zealand radio and television, known for his sharp humour, quick thinking and confident on-stage presence.

Chris spent many years as a presenter and reporter on Prime’s much-loved sports show The Crowd Goes Wild, where his ability to combine sport, comedy and personality made him a standout part of the programme. More recently, he co-hosted Sky Television’s reboot of the iconic sports show A Game of Two Halves, further cementing his reputation as one of New Zealand’s most engaging sports broadcasters.

Alongside his television work, Chris is also part of Radio Hauraki’s Drive show, The Big Show, alongside Jason Hoyte and Mike Minogue. The show has become one of the country’s most entertaining afternoon programmes, known for its humour, irreverence and loyal audience. Chris is also a regular voice with the Alternative Commentary Collective, bringing his comedic take to live sports coverage and commentary.

Chris’s background across live television, radio and sports broadcasting means he is completely comfortable in front of an audience and thrives in live environments. His ability to think on his feet, read a room and keep energy levels high makes him a natural MC.

As an event host, Chris combines professionalism with quick wit and strong audience awareness. He has hosted a wide range of events, from Silver Ferns tests and NZ Breakers games through to awards nights, corporate functions and large-scale live broadcasts.
