Chelsea Lane spent more than a decade working in high-performance sport in New Zealand before an unexpected opportunity took her to the NBA.

After receiving an email from the Golden State Warriors, Chelsea relocated to the United States and quickly became a key member of the organisation’s performance team. Within a year she was the first woman to sit on an NBA team bench as a performance therapist, working with some of the biggest names in world sport.

Her rise through the organisation was rapid. Within two years she was leading the Warriors’ sports medicine and performance department, helping guide the team through one of the most dominant periods in modern basketball. During her time with the franchise, Chelsea was part of the organisation that won back-to-back NBA Championships.

Chelsea was later recruited by the Atlanta Hawks, where she stepped into an executive leadership role and ultimately became Vice President of the organisation’s medical and performance operations — overseeing both high-performance strategy and player care at the highest level of the sport.

Today, Chelsea shares the lessons she learned inside the NBA — from the culture and leadership that drives championship teams to the realities of working under relentless pressure in one of the world’s most competitive sporting environments.

On stage, she offers rare behind-the-scenes insights into elite performance, leadership and team culture, drawing on experiences working alongside coaches such as Steve Kerr and players including Kevin Durant and Steph Curry.

“Chelsea was awesome! The team really enjoyed her session and took away some little nuggets of wisdom/inspiration which is great. Would definitely recommend her!”
