Janaye Henry (Ngāti Kahu ki Whangaroa) is an engaging MC and performer known for her quick wit, warmth and natural ability to connect with audiences. With a confident stage presence and sharp sense of humour, she brings energy and personality to events while ensuring programmes run smoothly.
A comedian, writer and performer based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Janaye has quickly established herself as one of Aotearoa’s most exciting comedic voices. Her ability to read a room and engage a crowd makes her a natural host, whether guiding a live audience through an awards night, panel discussion or corporate event.
Janaye was nominated for the Billy T Award at the 2023 New Zealand International Comedy Festival, recognising her as one of the country’s rising comedy talents. She has also appeared across a wide range of local and international productions including Time Bandits, Far North and My Favourite Dead Person.
Alongside her on-screen work, Janaye is an accomplished writer whose credits include The Spinoff, Ahikāroa, Have You Been Paying Attention?, Only in Aotearoa and Taskmaster NZ. She also appeared on Celebrity Treasure Island, further expanding her profile with audiences across the country.
