Karen O’Leary first captured audiences’ attention with her acting debut in Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s cult film What We Do in the Shadows.
Her standout performance as Officer O’Leary led to the hit comedy series Wellington Paranormal, which ran for four seasons and is now broadcast in more than 70 countries, including on HBO Max in the United States.
Karen has since expanded into television presenting, winning Best Presenter: Entertainment at the 2023 New Zealand Television Awards for her work as Community Reporter on Paddy Gower Has Issues.
Before entering the screen industry, Karen spent two decades as an early childhood educator, developing the communication skills and empathy that now underpin her work as both a presenter and host.
As a speaker and MC, Karen brings warmth, humour and authenticity to the stage, connecting easily with audiences while keeping events engaging and enjoyable.
