Tom Walsh is one of New Zealand’s most successful track and field athletes, with an extraordinary record in international shot put.

A three-time Olympian, Tom won bronze medals at both the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. He is also a Commonwealth Games champion, taking gold at the Gold Coast 2018 and Birmingham 2022 Games, and silver at Glasgow 2014.

On the world stage Tom claimed gold at the 2017 World Championships and the 2016 World Indoor Championships, cementing his place among the sport’s elite.

Known for his down-to-earth personality and sharp sense of humour, Tom offers audiences an honest look at the realities of elite performance — from the pressure of competing on the world stage to the discipline required to consistently perform at the highest level.
