William Pike’s life changed in an instant during the Mount Ruapehu eruption, where he lost his leg and was lucky to survive. What followed wasn’t just recovery — it was a deliberate decision to build a life defined by challenge, contribution and possibility.

Today, William is an adventurer, educator, innovator and founder of the William Pike Challenge, a nationwide youth development programme encouraging young people to step outside their comfort zones. He has explored Antarctica, launched successful business ventures, and developed Pro Armour, a prosthetic device now used by amputees around the world. His autobiography, Every Day’s A Good Day, captures the mindset that has guided him through adversity and opportunity alike.

On stage, William is genuine, engaging and refreshingly down-to-earth. He shares his story with humour and honesty, creating an immediate connection with audiences of all ages — from primary school students to senior leadership teams. His sessions are energetic and uplifting without being overwhelming, leaving people feeling capable, grounded and ready to take their own next step forward.

Audiences leave with a renewed perspective on resilience, courage and what’s possible when we choose growth over comfort.
